Justin Atkin is a senior ports and logistics professional with over 30 years’ experience across the UK and international maritime sectors. He spent 18 years with Associated British Ports, where he held senior operational and commercial roles across the Humber and at Group level.
Since founding Ragged Edge Consulting in 2016, Justin has advised a wide range of organisations on logistics strategy, port development, and supply chain optimisation. In 2018, he joined the international team at Port of Antwerp Bruges, representing the port across the UK, Ireland, and Scandinavia. Alongside this, he has served as a Non Executive Director of Portsmouth based Portico Shipping since 2021 and was appointed UK Logistics Director for We Soda in 2024.
Justin began his career in dry bulk and breakbulk logistics, later broadening his expertise to include containers, chemicals, cool logistics, and e commerce. His current work is increasingly focused on the energy transition, with particular emphasis on carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS) and hydrogen supply chains.
Based in Northern Lincolnshire, Justin is strategically positioned to support organisations across the UK, Ireland, and Northern Europe, drawing on an extensive network of industry, policy, and commercial contacts.
