Before starting work for Fernwood, Ben graduated from UCL with a Bachelor of Laws Degree. Alongside his studies, he was a keen rower, training twice daily on the Severn and then later on the Thames. He has rowed at various international events including Henley Royal Regatta. He ultimately competed and won a Gold Medal for England. Ben started work for the Fernwood Group in October 2024 as Group Management Trainee.

Ben feels privileged to work in a variety of sectors including shipping, transport, fuels, agriculture and property to name a few. Ben now works as Head of Group Strategy for the Fernwood Group and thoroughly enjoys the diverse nature of his role. Although he spends much of his time working on commercial aspects of the business, Ben still thoroughly enjoys throwing on his overalls and getting stuck into site and engineering work where he can.
