Sam started his career through the university route, studying mechanical engineering at Loughborough university, graduating with a masters. During his degree he worked his year in industry with Drax in the mechanical engineering team.

After finishing his degree, he rejoined Drax as a graduate engineer within the Materials Handling & Interface Team, focussing on maintaining dust levels to ALARP across Drax Power Station.

In addition to studying, Sam enjoys playing table tennis, having played competitively in multiple leagues, representing Loughborough University and was chair of Loughborough Students’ Table Tennis in the final year of his degree.

He also was a member of the magic circle and used the skills he learned to become a self-employed magician, performing for parties, events and weddings.
