Richard Driffill

After leaving college, Richard progressed onto managing the family farm, however similar for many businesses the farm had to diversify. Richard passed his HGV driving licence, I worked evening shifts at Hygena which is now Howdens, working in production, warehousing and transport, as well as gaining experience in the environment & safety team, while still seasonally helping run the farm.

He moved to Drax at the beginning of 2008, and progressed to Landfill Supervisor; assisting in managing coal stocks and the end of coal. Richard’s current position is Contracts Delivery Lead.

Several years ago, while playing golf with my family, I was always impatient to get playing. So, while my parents were warming up, I let fly with a belting T shot. although, the ball sailed straight into a distant lake. My mum said, “That serves you right for losing the ball”, I said “I’m not overly fussed as it was your ball I had hit”
