Biography:
Dr Gareth Davies holds an undergraduate master’s degree in Pure Chemistry (MChem) and a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Sheffield. His doctoral research was primarily in the field of materials chemistry with a strong environmental focus, including the development of renewable adsorbents and catalysts derived from waste materials. He went on to focus on innovative technologies for the permanent sequestration of CO₂ within concrete, vital for decarbonising the construction sector, which still lacks a clear roadmap to net zero.
Since joining Tunley Environmental just over two years ago, Gareth has become a Senior Scientist and Carbon Co-lead, applying his problem-solving and practical mindset to deliver real carbon reduction strategies. He combines his deep knowledge of carbon emissions accounting with hands-on experience in devising effective reduction initiatives. His pioneering research into novel solid materials and methodologies continues to inform his work, supporting industries in their journey toward net zero.
